Robert Otzmann., 70, of Evansville, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ on July 23, 1941 to Henry and Gladys Otzmann.
Robert received his apprenticeship in the 60’s for tool design and became a draftsman for General Gum Products in New Jersey. He went to night school at NJIT for engineering and later worked for Lee Filter in Edison, NJ. He then worked for Champion Laboratories as manager of Machine Design. His true passion was boating. Robert taught classes for boating safety and was a member of the Power Squadrons and worked with the Boy Scouts.
Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Diane Otzmann, a son, Keith Otzmann (Lori), a daughter, Kim Hamby (Jon), Grandchildren; Ryan and Kadi Otzmann and Lexie, Zoie and Elsie Hamby, sister, Joyce Vance-Brown (Phil) of Lancing, MI, and two nephews, John and Bob Vance.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., with the service at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Tim Garrett.
